1. What is the difference between an interior designer and an interior decorator?
Interior decorator and interior designers are often confused and interchange. However there is a difference between the two titles. An interior decorator generally refers to someone who deals with finishes, wall coverings, furniture and surfaces. There are no government regulations regarding the work of an interior decorator. An interior designer is a more specialized career field requiring a certain level of education, work experiences and licensing. An interior designer may also deal with issues of safety like accessibility and building codes.

3. What should I prepare for an initial meeting with the interior designers?
Please come prepared with a budget in mind, together with personal preferences, ideas, needs and concept to be discuss with our interior designers. In addition, please provide site plan of the building if there is one. All of these issues are essential in determining what kind of project is structurally and financially feasible.
4. How long will the project take?
The length of the project will depend on several factors including the permitting process, scale of the project, materials selection, design decisions and receipt of payments. If these factors are resolve and straightened out before project begins, Designers home will provide you with a timeline and completion date in advance.
5. Do you come to client’s home/office or does the client come to your office?
Designers Home is an online based interior design company; however we include actual site visits too. The initial consultations service is always in person. We try to coordinate with both parties to schedule the most convenient location.
